Preschool students from Midtown Community Elementary School made a visit to Neptune Municipal Complex on Thursday, March 3rd. Their first stop was at Neptune’s Public Library. Cheryl Otten, our Children’s Librarian, read them books about community helpers followed by a tour of the Library. Next stop was the Administration Department. They were greeted by Business Administrator, Vito Gadaleta and staff. Mr. Gadaleta led them through the Municipal building, upstairs to the Township Committee Meeting Room and explained to them that this is where the Mayor and Township Committee meet to discuss official township business. Captain Larry Fisher, Sergeant Michael Zarro and Detective David Gamble of the Township Police Department greeted the students and then spoke about police safety, the police uniform and other important functions of the Police Department. Detective Gamble provided a presentation with students on the proper way to be fingerprinted. Following the presentations, the students enjoyed some refreshments before heading out for a ‘touch a police car’ visit with Sergeant Zarro who turned on the lights and blew the siren, much to the enjoyment of all the students.
