In a time of uncertainty and often isolation it can be hard to find something to smile about. This is particularly true when it comes to our frailest neighbors whose mobility is severely limited. Those are our friends who rely on Meals On Wheels for a meal and a kind voice.
The Neptune Township Senior Center thanks the owner and staff of Jersey Mike’s in Neptune Township for a generous and tasty surprise for these special Seniors.
On a rainy Friday, April 24, Jersey Mike’s located in West Grove Center prepared 55 meals to be delivered to these our most vulnerable and isolated seniors. This surprise was to let these neighbors know that they are not forgotten and that there are people who care.
These turkey, tuna and roast beef subs with chips and a cookie came in a Jersey Mike’s meal box complete with a picture of the Jersey Shore! The meals went out with their regular lunches delivered by our Center heroes, our Meals On Wheels volunteers who show up and make certain that not only do these Seniors get a meal but someone asking how they are.
