Neptune’s 12th Annual Touch a Truck Fun for All
If If you were anywhere near Neptune Middle School on Heck Avenue on Wednesday evening, you couldn’t help but stop by to check out all the commotion!
There was a stretch limousine, a police car, a tow truck, ambulances, fire trucks, a gator, an ice cream truck, emergency vehicles, rescue trucks, a garbage truck, and a loader. Sounds like an interesting traffic jam; only this packed parking lot was planned! Neptune’s twelfth annual Touch A Truck, held on Wednesday, July 16, at the Neptune Middle School parking lot featured real sirens, big steering wheels, about 25 vehicles, and larger than life excitement.
Children and adults could sound the siren on a rescue truck, try on emergency gear, climb the rock wall, run under the spray of a fire truck, and sit in the driver’s seat of a front end loader!
The young and young at heart “drove” to their hearts content, and the younger crowd enjoyed temporary tattoos, balloon creations, and a fire truck bounce.
Blasting sirens, flashing lights, and smiling faces were just a few of the things you saw or heard as children could climb into a truck, ask questions, sound a horn, and let their imaginations run wild. Anyone who heard the excitement came to see what all the noise and lights were about.
