Snow Parking restrictions are now in effect until further notice, and all vehicles must be moved to the proper locations or into driveways immediately. NTPD officers have spent the afternoon informing the public about the ordinance to ensure Public Works can begin plowing when the snow begins early Sunday morning.
***Vehicles in Ocean Grove must be parked as indicated by the posted signs, and vehicles in the rest of Neptune Township must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street.**
Vehicles not parked in accordance with the ordinance may be contacted by the NTPD, and are subject to being ticketed or towed. JANUARY 23 at 9AM:
Significant Winter Storm Saturday Night to Monday Morning

Friday 1/23 9:00AM - The Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management and Township agencies are preparing for this weekend’s winter storm, expected to begin early Sunday morning and continue into Monday morning. The US National Weather Service has issued an updated snowfall accumulation forecast, which indicates 12-18” of snow across most of NJ between Saturday night and Monday morning, with heavy snow (1-2” per hour) falling on Sunday morning. Sleet and freezing rain is expected Sunday night, and extremely cold temperatures will continue through the week, so expect prolonged hazardous conditions due to the lack of snow melt.

Forecasted snowfall amounts will continue to change over the next two days, so be sure to continue monitoring the National Weather Service, Neptune OEM, and your trusted local weather source for updates. It is strongly recommended that all take the necessary preparedness steps before the weekend, and expect the conditions on Sunday to make driving extremely dangerous. As with any heavy snow, there will be the potential for power outages, extremely cold temperatures, and other storm-related impacts.

SNOW PARKING ALERT: All Neptune Township and Ocean Grove residents are reminded that snow parking goes into effect as soon as the roads are snow-covered or when a snow emergency has been declared. Vehicles in Ocean Grove must be parked as indicated by the posted signs, and vehicles in the rest of Neptune Township must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street. The purpose of the ordinance is to allow Public Works to properly plow and salt the streets, and to ensure emergency vehicles can access narrow streets during the storm. Vehicles not parked in accordance with the ordinance may be contacted by the NTPD, and are subject to being ticketed or towed.
