With this weekend’s projected snow, all Neptune Township residents should prepare to move vehicles in accordance with the snow parking ordinance. Vehicles in Ocean Grove must be parked as indicated by the posted signs, and vehicles in the rest of Neptune Township must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street.
Snow parking goes into effect as soon as the roads are snow-covered or when a snow emergency has been declared. The purpose of the ordinance is to allow Public Works to properly plow and salt the streets, and to ensure emergency vehicles can access narrow streets during the storm. Vehicles not parked in accordance with the ordinance may be contacted by the NTPD, and are subject to being ticketed or towed.
