“Volunteers - Giving Time and Touching Hearts” was the theme on Friday, August 26, 2016. Neptune Township Department of Senior Services and Senior Center staff honored over 150 volunteers at the Center’s Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon for their service to the Senior Center and community.
The Senior Center volunteers donated countless hours of volunteer time over the last year. Accolades and words of appreciation were given by Freeholder Director, Tom Arnone, Deputy Mayor Dr. Michael Brantley and Township Committeeman Nick Williams.
Proclamations in recognition of all the volunteers’ hard work and dedication were presented by Freeholder John Curley and Freeholder Serena DiMaso, and by Deputy Mayor Dr. Michael Brantley, and Township Committeeman Nick Williams.
All of the volunteers also received certificates of appreciation from Senator Jennifer Beck.
Special recognition plaques were presented to Madeline DeSarno who recently retired from volunteering for over 15 years as the President for the Forever Young Group and to Emil Fortunato who retired this year after dedicating 29 years as the President of the Senior Bowling League at Shore Lanes.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by La Lupa Di Roma and danced to great music by DJ Tommy Lynch.
