Meeting: November 27th

Time:     7:00 business/ 7:30 General meeting.

Where:   Shark River Hills Fire House

            200 Brighton Ave, Neptune.

Hello Neighbors,

This month we will hold elections for the officers and board members. We have one position open for 2nd VP. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. We will host some of the members from the Township Committee, Mayor Randy Bishop, Deputy Mayor Eric Houghtaling and Committee member Mary Beth Jahn. We would also like to meet and greet our new Township Administrator Vito Gadaleta. They will be there to answer questions and discuss our next steps towards rebuilding the heaviest hit areas from Sandy and Athena.

We are canceling gold party until further notice and need more interested parties to attend.

This Wednesday November 14th weather permitting we will hold an event at the Shark River Hills Elementary school called Trunk R Treat. SRHPOA will host the event and give the kids their day for trick or treating. This event is for residents of Neptune only and students who attend Shark River Hills Elementary School. We decided not to hold it on the day the Governor designated because it was still too dangerous with no power and no street lights. If the Shark River Hills PTO wants to help out we could use the extra help with handing out candy, and just being there to help with watching the kids and making the event that much better and safer.

I would like us all to give thanks to the wonderful work and support that Mayor Randy Bishop and the committee members gave during and after the storm. They did a great job in getting things cleaned up. Setting up a communications tent and made township employees from the library available to help with FEMA applications. We would also like to give a great big thank you to Chief of Police Adams and all the police officers who protected and helped during and after the storms. We would also like to thank Mike Bascom who coordinated emergency efforts and resources from the EOC in Neptune and made sure all issues pertaining to fire, first aid and emergency services were fast, effective and executed with professionalism and extreme care to the residents who were in danger and in life threatening situations. Thank you to all the fire and first aiders who worked tireless hours to just be there and help the residents. Thank you all for a wonderful job and we know you can’t do it all without the help from DPW, and township employees who are behind you and support you in every way and every day.

Also thanks to Sandy and Sandy’s angels and helpers how cooked and delivered food to the residents and volunteers who worked tirelessly and continuously during the cleanup and over the weekends when people just needed a brake and some good home cooked food. Thanks to the SRH Ladies Auxiliary who also helped with supplying good cooked food and a place for residents to meet and talk with the great Firemen and OEM crews that also helped the entire time during and after the storm.

Also a big thanks to Reverend Loveland from the Shark River Hills Baptist Church who opened his doors for the PTO and made his church a place to deliver and distribute clothing and other necessities for the residents here in the hills. He also supplied soup and food around the river to the residents who could speak with him over a cup of soup and maybe get some spiritual support and guidance as well.

Please come to the meeting on November 27th. Bring your questions and concerns and we will help you however we can. Stay warm and safe.

Sincerely,

Steven Frencer
