Brooklyn follows Eilis Lacey, a young Irish immigrant who arrives in New York in the 1950s. At first Ellis feels homesick for Ireland, but those feelings quickly fade away after she meets and falls in love with Tony, a rugged Italian plumber.
After a death in her family, Eilis must return to Ireland, where she meets and develops feelings for another man.
