On October 1, 2014, the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP will begin accepting applications for the 2014-2015 heating season. LIHEAP and the state’s Universal Service Fund (USF) provide benefits to supplement the cost of utility bills for eligible limited income households. Moreover, NJNG’s Gift of Warmth fund along with the state-sponsored Payment Assistance Gas and Electric and NJ SHARES programs provide energy assistance to households that exceed LIHEAP and USF income thresholds but are currently experiencing temporary or unanticipated financial hardship.
NJNG will host Energy Assistance Day at Community Connections, 3544 State Hwy 55 (Home Depot strip mall) on Thursday, September 25 from 11am to 7 pm. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and offer personal assistance in the application process.
If you are unable to attend the event on September 25th, you can attend it on September 18 at Asbury Park, One Municipal Plaza from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
