Drunk Driving Enforcement Crackdown to be Conducted Locally as Part of Statewide Year End Campaign


he NJ Division of Disability Services is pleased to announce that the Sandy Relief Modular Ramp Program has expanded the scope of the program to include vertical platform lifts. The program has also changed its name and is now the Sandy Relief Home Access Program.


December 9 - Afternoon


As of late morning, heavy rain was located over coastal central and northern NJ from the Toms River area northward through coastal Monmouth and the NYC area.  A dry slot has punched into southern NJ and a good part of western NJ.

The heavy rain will move slowly northward today and the intensity of the rain will be decreasing through the afternoon.


Fletcher Lake outfall gate has been lowered to allow lake to lower.

Wesley Lake being lowered by Asbury Park staff.

A trailer mounted 6” pump and hoses loaned by the Sewerage Authority has been staged at Pennsylvania Avenue Pump Station.


DECEMBER 8TH - 10AM

A Nor’Easter will affect the area today through Thursday.

A band of snow has developed over coastal sections of Ocean and Atlantic Counties this morning and will continue to drift northward over Monmouth County.  A light dusting of snow on colder surfaces is possible before ending by midday.

Northeast winds will continue to increase today and will be gusting to 40 mph to 45 mph later tonight and Tuesday.


Police will continue with aggressive speed enforcement

The speed humps that were placed around Neptune during the summer are currently in the process of being removed for the winter. During these months it is necessary to remove them in order to plow snow from the area.

The speed humps will be put back into place in the spring as we continue our traffic calming initiative. During the winter months we will continue with our aggressive speed enforcement through patrols, radar and speed signs placed around town. 


The contractor will be paving Wayside Road tomorrowFriday December 5th from Palmer Avenue to West Bangs Avenue.
On the same day the contractor will be milling a portion of Wayside Road from West Bangs toward Route #66.
