Under partly cloudy skies, and with a quick April hail and rain shower before the hunt began, Neptune Recreation’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt went off without a hitch, as children raced for their bounty of colored eggs across all three fields at Bert Willis Park this past Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Cottontail were also on hand to share in the fun!!
Children from ages pre-k through 5th grade made short work of gathering up 4,000 brightly colored eggs, each containing a small toy or wrapped candy. There were 36 lucky individuals who found golden eggs mixed in with the pastel colored eggs. These golden eggs earned the individual either a large lollipop or chocolate bunny and gift card to McDonalds. Those winners were: Blake Aliprantis, AJ Avallone, Billy Becraft, Brody Bednar, Levi Braxton, Na’leah Brown, Zoi Brown, Gerald Byers, Justin Byers, JJ Connor, Alessandrea Daigle, Allie Daigle, Joshua Edwards, Braelyn Ordino-Goraey, Alexa Graham, Emma Himmelberger, Alaia Johson, Marlie Lavoile, Jacob Matsoa, Maya Munoz, August Murphy, Rose Murphy, Kylie Pullen, Natalie Pullen, Ceyonne Reevey, Lyonna Reevey, Teyonna Reevey, Bryden Riedemann, Aalmerieno Ruiz, Nikolas Scannapieco, Madison Strohschein, Jaxson Strohschien, Xayne Turner, Jake Urciuolo, and Ashlee Valverde.
Thanks to former Mayor Nick Williams, Deputy Mayor Keith Cafferty, and Committee-person Robert Lane for joining in the festivities. A special thank you to helpers: Nadine and Alex Kleiberg, Cathy Crelin, Niarra Harvey, the Rosen Family, Lauren Freeman, Roni Zarrella, Neptune High School Student Council, and the Neptune Township Police. And thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Cottontail for joining us for a fun event!
